Design and Technology

Our vision is to deepen children’s engagement with design and technology; supporting and challenging children with meaningful and relevant designing and practical skills in order to become resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens.

Intention

Our Design & Technology curriculum aims to:

Achievement: Provide a Design & Technology education that appropriately supports and challenges every pupil and is inclusive to all.

Opportunities: To provide a variety of stimulating Design & Technology based experiences, involving and including the local community, that are meaningful and relevant to each learner. To enable the children to become creative problem-solvers and deep thinkers.

Empower: Inspire pupils to develop knowledge and acquire skills to enable them to choose and apply these in relevant situations, both now and in their future career. Promote the development of the pupils’ personal and inter-personal skills in order for them to be responsible members of their own community. Support the children to acquire basic life skills so that they can lead mentally and physically healthy lifestyles as adults.
