Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.

This means:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
  • Preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

At Radford Academy, we aim to:

  • Afford protection for the students at Radford Academy
  • Enable staff and volunteers to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
  • Promote a culture which makes this school a safer place to learn
  • To provide clear guidelines and procedures as to how staff will ensure the safety of all the children
  • To support children’s development in ways that will foster their development, confidence and independence

Please take time to look through this website to gain further information about what the academy does to keep pupils safe. You will also find advice and contact details of organisations that can offer safeguarding support. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact a member of the safeguarding team.

We believe that children have the right to feel safe and protected from any forms of abuse. We aim to provide a kind, safe and understanding environment where all children can develop their self-esteem and achieve their full potential.
