Our School Council’s Mission is to make the school the best place it can be! Through our work, we aim to ensure all children’s voices are listened to and valued; that school is a happy and safe place and that we make positive changes to make the school a better place.
Radford Academy will have one Head Girl and one Head Boy from Year 6. If the children want to apply to be Head Boy or Head Girl they will need to create a campaign poster and a speech highlighting why they think that they would be a good candidate and persuade people to vote for them. The voters will be encourages to think of who would be a good choice to represent them at events. The ideal candidate should be a role model for others in the school and have a good behaviour record. We will also have a deputy Head Boy and Head Girl who will help support the Head Boy and Head Girl with their duties and step in in case of absence. There will also be two representative elected in from years 1 to 6 and 1 representative from our nurture provision. These children will help the heads and deputies to make and vote on decisions that will make our school a better place to be. Representatives will meet every Friday and will follow a pre-set agenda. Minutes will be taken from each meeting and shared on the school website.
